ABOUT ME: I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor - Registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) with their ethical framework surrounding all that I do.

I hold full professional insurance and a current DBS clearance certificate.

I came to be a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor through my own therapeutic experience. I found myself in the client’s chair trying to make sense of my life and its difficulties. I personally experienced how transformative and empowering the therapeutic experience can be. An experience I wish, if at all possible, to share with others.

Having come to this work following several other professions, I feel that the thread that binds all my careers to date is my consistent attitude of connectivity and a compassionate attitude towards the people I have encountered along the way. I remain deeply committed to being as open and honest as possible and hope to continue to learn from, and grow with, my clients.

ABOUT YOU: Maybe you are wanting to understand yourself better? Looking for an opportunity to have a deeper knowledge of yourself and your behaviour? You might want more satisfaction in your career or be struggling with personal relationships? Seeking a professional relationship with someone that will allow space for talking about your problems and challenges and exploring these experiences together through deep conversation?

We are all impacted by our life experiences but may not always have time, space, money or inclination to look deeper and make the changes required to live our best life.

If you are still reading this, you have already begun the process and I understand how frightening it may feel to take the next step towards change and commitment to yourself, which is why I encourage you to make contact for an informal conversation about how we could work together to address some of these things.

Issues I work with include (but are not limited to):

Abuse - Addiction - Anger - Anxiety - Bereavement (bereavement from suicide) - Couples/Relationship issues -

Depression - End of Life/Life threatening illness - Family challenges - General issues - Grief - PTSD - Stress  - Trauma

I am a Volunteer Therapist at St. Joseph's Hospice, Hackney working with Bereavement and also as a member of the Patient & Family team.

I hold Certificates of attendance/CPD in: Counselling Couples, Family Systemic Psychotherapy, Working with Infidelity,  Suicidal Ideation and Self-harm, Psychosomatic Clinical presentations and implications for embodied relational psychological therapy approaches, Working with Interpreters, Holding the Bereavement Frame, Addiction, Working with Genograms, Working with Loss and Bereavement, Resolving Clinical dilemmas in Therapy and Working with Cancer and Terminal Illness; Surviving loss by Suicide.

I remain committed to Continued Professional Development.

I look forward to getting to know you too and walking alongside you on your journey.....Mandi

ABOUT THERAPY WITH ME

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Co-creating a different perspective

How I work

Working in an Integrative way (which basically means using various learning and theory to find the very best, tailor-made style of therapy for the individual) to facilitate change through reflection, investigation and sharing of thoughts and ideas of what obstacles and experiences may be interrupting a more harmonious life.

My intention is to demystify the psychotherapeutic world, taking an honest and open approach, plain speaking and no frills...so we always know where we stand throughout our working relationship.

Through the use of various collaborative measures, we will endeavour to co-create a different perspective on elements of your life that may be causing you worry and concern or making you feel stuck. Getting to know each other and forming a relationship together is an essential element of the work we will embark on.

Whether you want 1 session or 6 weeks to talk through something very specific or 12 weeks to focus on a particular issue such as bereavement or anxiety (counselling) or an open-ended commitment to work through difficult issues together looking at childhood, past experiences and old habits until such time we agree to end, I am able to accommodate your needs.

Initial consultation

We will have an initial "one off" session for us to discuss the issues you are looking to bring to therapy and how we might work together. This is a chance for you to ask me questions and for me to find out what your expectations are and what you want to gain from therapy. Together we will decide if therapy is the right thing for you and if I am the right therapist for you and agree on how to proceed, should you wish to and we will agree a working contract and schedule our sessions from this point.

Our sessions

Our therapy sessions will be held in a private, confidential space (with some limitations) for 50 minutes per week at the same time and location. I also offer one-off sessions,  6 weeks, 12 weeks or open ended sessions and this can be discussed when we connect.

My preference for the sessions is that we meet in person and work Face To Face and I will consider online or telephone sessions if required and with prior agreement.

I welcome and encourage people from all walks of life regardless of race, colour, culture, sexuality, gender, religion, age, disability, financial status etc. unfortunately, however, I cannot at present accommodate wheelchair users as the room I practice from has a front step and doors are not widened but I am always happy to see if we can work something out around access so please ask! I am also trained in working with an interpreter so please enquire if English is not your first language.

I also offer a limited number of concessionary rates for those with reduced incomes - with a one year limit - please contact me for individual discussion.

SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

one to one

In one to one therapy sessions, we can work through challenges together. Looking at difficult feelings or behaviour, we will agree on your objective for our work and we will work towards you reaching some insights that may help you to “re-frame” your thoughts and reactions in order to find greater self awareness and balance in your internal and external world.

We will discuss your presenting issues and agree a time frame for our work.

£65 per session

COUPLES THERAPY

business or personal

Couples sessions can help clients to develop positive attitudes towards some of the complex and challenging circumstances that being in a relationship can bring.

Working alongside you with your romantic or business relationship to take a neutral role and help you find a position of communication and understanding.

Examples: mother/father & daughter/son, siblings, civil partnerships, marriages, friends - any 'couple' welcome.

£120 per session (2 people)

ONLINE

making connections

This relatively new form of connection between client and therapist can be very effective, although I do not feel it should replace face to face therapy where it is achievable, if mobility, time restrictions or anxiety prevent you from coming to meet with me, we can consider online sessions via the internet or Skype.

Please contact me to discuss your specific needs.

£65 per online session

Cancellation Policy: As each weekly session is saved specifically for you, any sessions that are cancelled and do not coincide with my pre-arranged time off, will be charged at our agreed weekly rate. In cases of illness or emergency, an alternative appointment or Skype session will be offered.

I am also available for corporate sessions, one off brainstorming and workshops. Price on application.

HATCH

I am a founding member of The Hatch Group, set up by a group of counselling and psychotherapist colleagues.
Working right across London, Berkshire and beyond; we want to see the counselling profession flourish with excellent practitioners and ensure that our clients are receiving the best possible care.
Our aim is to de-mystify counselling and psychotherapy and make it as accessible and open up the process to as many people as possible.
We've seen many road blocks to people accessing good, reliable therapy either though prohibitive services, costs, or simply a lack of information out there for those who need it the most. There are groups in society who feel that counselling and psychotherapy might not be for them, and we want to dispel that myth and promote good mental health for all, no matter your age, cultural background or gender.
We promote diversity in everything we do, and working in this way means we ensure nobody is excluded from the most human of experience, to share their struggle with another, with hope of healing.
We run an internal referral service which means that, though all client work is confidential, should the situation arise, we ensure that clients coming to us will always be offered the chance to work with the best possible therapist for their unique issue.
Also as part of the Hatch group in the unlikely event that something unforeseen should happen to me while we are working together, and our sessions can no longer continue; you will be offered the opportunity to continue working with one of our approved and certified Hatch counsellors. This can be decided based on location and fees and safely ensures your continued work and uninterrupted sessions.
